Biotherapeutic Drainage

We are exposed to many different toxins. This includes heavy metals, plastics, pesticides and other pollutants. Our cells also make their own toxins. For example ammonia is produced when the body breaks down protein for energy. The ability to properly excrete toxins is essential for health. This is the purpose of biotherapeeutic drainage.

How are toxins eliminated

The body eliminates toxins through the liver, kidney and lungs. This requires adequate nutrition and energy. If either of those are lacking then a series of secondary methods are used.

The skin is our largest organ and is often used as an auxiliary route of detoxification. Other systems used includes the mouth, digestive tract and urogenital system. When this happens we see symptoms.

Secondary routes of detoxificaiton

Suppressing symptoms with drugs (or supplements) does not really make anyone healthy. Symptoms are simply the body’s response to the real problem. Health comes from supporting proper detoxification. In this way the body will not need to produce symptoms in order to get rid of toxins.

Medications such as antibiotics or steroids actually aborts the body’s self healing mechanism. It drive disease deeper into the body.

At times it is necessary to suppress symptoms if they are bad enough to case harm. To be clear, I am not against the use of antibiotics or steroids. I am against the indiscriminate use of them.

The role of infection in detoxification

The body may work along with bacteria and yeast to eliminate toxins. They eat up toxins which are then expunged in forms of phlegm and pus.

When a toxic person gets a yeast infection, strep throat or a UTI it is common to take anti-microbial medications. Some may use anti-microbial herbs in lie of medications. Regardless the infection usually goes away, only to come back a few months later.

Why? Because killing off an infection but doing nothing to change the terrain that allowed it to grow in the first place, simply invites the infection to come back later.

The best way to avoid repeating infections it to improve health. Give the body proper nutrition and help it detoxify. Once the internal environment is healthier, pathogens will no longer have breeding ground that allows them grow.

Emergency visits to the medial doctor with urinary tract infections are common.

After treatment with antibiotics, infections often comes back in a few months. Each round of antibiotics further weakens the immune system by indiscriminately killing off bacteria.

If antibiotics (or antimicrobial herbs) are the answer then why does the infection come back?

It does because the toxic environment which had encouraged the infection to begin with has not been treated.

What happens if the body can’t get rid of toxins

If the body lacks resources and energy to get rid of toxins they will be stored. At first this happens in the extracellular space outside of cells. All sorts of cysts or polyps represent the body’s attempt to safely store toxins away.

Eventually even this fails. Toxins become stuck inside of cells. This impairs cellular function and may even lead to cell death.

Putting together a biotherapeutic drainage protocol

The goal of bio therapeutic drainage is to stimulate the release of toxins from where they are being held in the body. This is different from many forms of “detoxification” which focus primarily on just the liver and digestive systems.

Drainage protocols use combinations of homeopathic remedies. Each remedy is crafted to serve a specific function. This may be the support a particular organ system, or some other cell function.

There are several companies that make remedies appropriate for biotherapeutic drainage. I use those made by Pekana. Besides having specific training in Pekana remedies along with  years of experience, I have seen from experience that they are strong remedies that do work.

The examples below show how several different remedies can be combined for a specific purpose.

The combination of several remedies together for a synergistic effect:

Apo-Heptat is used to support liver detoxification pathway.

Upelva  is usually used in women for congestion of pelvic floor.

Toxex is  used to enhance detoxification, especially of metals.

These 3 remedies will work with each other. Upelva promotes the drainage of toxins out of the female reproductive area. Toxex will focus the action on heavy metals. Apo-hepat will  help the liver process toxins release into circulation by the other two remedies.

Combining different remedies into effective drainage protocols can become complicated. This is best left up to someone with specific training.

Traditional homeopathy versus biotherapeutic drainage

In traditional homeopathy a single remedy is chosen to match the whole case. This includes physical and emotional symptoms. If the right remedy is chosen it helps a lot. Finding the right remedy however can be a difficult process.

I use drainage protocols most often in clients who are both toxic and have very low energy. Usually they can not handle aggressive detoxification protocols. Drainage protocols can be done slowly. They are gentle and less likely to provoke difficult detoxification reactions when done correctly.

I will use single homeopathics at times. Usually I do this later on in case, when several symptoms have improved and I have a more clear picture of what single remedy is correct.
