What to Expect at Your First Naturopathic Visit

Flow chart. Assessment, intake, testing, protocol.

The Initial Visit

Most people who come here have already tried multiple approaches and are still not better. The goal of the first visit is to understand the pattern behind your symptoms and give you a clear starting point.

I Work with clients in Queens, Brooklyn, Nassau county and the surrounding New York area, as well as with distance clients when appropriate.

Understanding Your History

Holistic care starts with a review of your health history so I can understand how your symptoms developed. The visit is intentionally unhurried so we have time to explore the pattern behind your symptoms.

We discuss:

  • When symptoms first began
  • What seems to make them better or worse
  • Major illnesses, injuries, or stressful periods
  • Previous treatments or supplements you’ve tried

Many people who come here have already tried multiple treatments and are looking for a more individualized approach.

How Your Body Is Functioning

After the history, I perform a hands-on assessment to look for patterns in how the body is functioning.

This includes:

In Office Modalities

When appropriate, the following tools and techniques may be used:

  • Low-level laser therapy (Erchonia)
  • Touch For Health corrections
  • Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)
  • Frequency-based systems such as MOPA and GB4000

Functional Lab Testing

I have accounts with several functional laboratory companies and may recommend testing when it is likely to help guide treatment. However, testing is often not necessary at the beginning.

In many cases, a detailed health history and hands-on assessment provide enough information to begin working effectively. We often start with simpler interventions and observe how the body responds.

Your Starting Plan

At the end of the visit we discuss a starting plan.

This may include:

  • Targeted herbal support
  • Nutritional or lifestyle adjustments
  • Supplement recommendations when appropriate

Most people leave the first visit with a focused starting point, rather than a long list of treatments.

I keep a small selection of professional supplements and herbal medicines in the office so patients can obtain them easily if needed.

I often prepare custom herbal formulas based on the individual assessment.

Purchasing supplements in the office is always optional — you are free to obtain them from any source you prefer.

I do not use large, generic supplement stack protocols. In general, the more specific the intake and assessment are, the fewer supplements someone usually needs.

What Makes This Approach Different

Most people who come here have already tried multiple approaches without getting clear results. This process is designed to be simpler, more focused, and easier to follow.

  • No large supplement protocols — most people start with a few targeted recommendations, not long lists.
  • Testing is used selectively — not everything requires lab work to begin making progress.
  • We focus on how your body is functioning — not just labels or diagnoses.
  • You leave with a clear starting point — not an overwhelming plan.
  • No pressure for long-term care — treatment is adjusted based on how you respond.

Follow-UP Visits

Follow-Up Visits

Follow up visits are used to:

  • Review how you are responding to the treatment plan
  • Adjust supplements and herbs
  • Reevaluate triggers with kinesiology muscle testing
  • Repeat sessions when appropriate using Erchonia Laser, GB4000, Touch For Health, Neuro Emotional Technique, or other muscle testing protocols
  • Determine if any functional lab work is needed

Usually at first I see people every 3 – 6 weeks. As symptoms improve, visits typically become less frequent.

F.A.Q.

Will I be pressured into endless visits?

I do not sell large visit packages or pressure people into ongoing visits.

Is this a one-and-done consultation?

In most cases it is best to work more closely over several visits. I am also available to answer short questions by email or phone in between visits.

How long is each visit?

The initial consultation typically lasts about 60–90 minutes. Follow up visits are typically 60 minutes.

How often do people usually follow up?

I work with some people together for a focused period of several months.

Others return periodically during times of stress, illness, or major life changes.

This is not a “quick-fix” model. It is also not intended to create long-term dependency.

The aim is to help the body regain enough stability that less intervention is needed over time. As progress occurs, the treatment plan often becomes simpler rather than more complex.

If your situation requires a different type of care, I will let you know.
